QUETTA: Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alaudin Marri on Wednesday directed authorities concerned to take potential measures to provide clean water to masses of Gwadar on emergency bases.
He said this while chairing a meeting regarding water issues to review of providing clean water on future bases to Gwadar, said a press release issued here.
Caretaker Provincial Minister Public Health Engineering (PHE) Naveed Kalmati, Chief Sectary Balochistan Akhtar Nazir, Additional Chief Sectary, P&D Hafiz Abdul Basit, Sectary PHE, Sectary Finance, DGGDA and other official attended the meeting.
Minister PHE informed the meeting about shortage water of Gwadar.
Chief Minister said serious measures need to be taken for ensuring resolving shortage of water of Gwadar to provide facilities to public in the area.
“Gwadar is future of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) while it is responsibility of government to ensure providing of clean water to residential of Gwadar at any cast”, he added.
He directed administrations to take steps to restore closing Desalination Plants in Gwadar as soon as possible, saying that water would be provided in respective areas of district including Tehsil from dams through pipelines for reducing water tankers.
Chief Minister lauded PHE Minister and its department efforts regarding water and assured them that funds would be provided by provincial government in this regard.
Desalination Plants had been discussed to review with agreement of foreign companies for ensuring providing clean water to public in Gwadar during meeting.
